Agenda: Go Workshop + concrete decisions for holidays

  1. Go Workshop
Varun did an excellent presentation with a holistic overview of Go. See the slides here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1-Nqsp9ZbcYSJnXUuZTkBVMJg4Rco2YYA6Hfr50NZKCE/edit?usp=sharing (i really wish i recorded this majestic spectacle 😖)

  2. Team
We considered the possibility of recruiting new people. Varun has a friend who is interested in joining. We will see how the next week progresses with regards to the few people who have been MIA for a while.

  3. Concrete planning and deadlines
Our work on the old website as an intermediary is nearly complete and we want to begin deployment immediately. Right now we are lacking in planning and our first priority (besides deploying) is to get EVERYTHING documented. Both Jacky and Varun have made prototypes and we need to get information out of our heads and onto Confluence / figma so we can see everything.

We have set a deadline to model our entire system by the end of this week. This means a full dataflow diagram for the system, HTTP model and domain diagram representing all components in the frontend and backend.

Once we have these things scaffolded, we can definitively declare concrete deadlines for our MVP.

  4. No more Vue for the CMS
Given that our CMS will be operating discretely from our current website, there is genuinely no need for Vue. The original rationale for using Vue was that it has native integration with Go, although we plan to have our frontend/backend elements concretely separated and as a result this is not beneficial. We have more experience overall in React as a result we are going to stop pursuing Vue for our CMS as it is a significant blocker.
