Vision

2022 Vision for the project

  • Lewis and Joseph catching up to speed on Rust and React respectively

    • Goal to start contributing

  • Get very basic MVP out by Week 2 of Term 1 2022 ready for subcom recruitment

  • Add custom features via request

Big ticket features/epics

  • No defined structure rn, just do things on the fly, very startup-ish style

  • Just get it done lol then start actually planning

Goals

Short term goals

  • Get Joseph and Lewis up to date with the tech stack and project

    • Joseph starting to get comfortable alrdy with Rust

  • Get the MVP done

Medium term goals

  • Structured team workflow (instead of randomly assign)

Long term goals

  • Bit out of scope, this project started like 4 weeks ago

  • Generally, just keep adding features and making it the standard platform for recruitment in CSE and UNSW

Deployment + Marketing + Upskilling

Is the project deployed/what is the expected timeline for a MVP deployment?

  • Term 1 Week 2

    • Very important because we want subcom to use this (instead of waiting another year)

Any marketing you would like to do for the project?

  • No, just message the slack and notify subcoms

Workshops + Upskilling

  • Teach Rust within the Team

    • The book is extremely good ← just read the book

    • No need for a large workshop like other projects have requested

Subcom recruitment

Where to source members?

  • An applicant expressed interest in joining Rust right now

    • Team agrees it’s good

  • Execs planning to stay around until MVP is done

    • Shrey byebye after MVP

    • Hayes → until MVP but will stay behind to explain drag and drop

    • Zac happy to chill around and give advice/review code (Help with technical like rust and stuff)

  • Shrey: If there’s an overflow of current Projects applicants, note them down and offer a specific separate interview for Chaos

    • Email them “Hi we thought you might be good fit for this new project”

  • If cannot fill numbers, then hire early T1 alongside the other subcoms (AFTER MVP)

Evan Williams (Joseph interviews and brings up Chaos in interview)
Note down some applicants who might be good fit for Rust

What work will subcom have?

  • Work might dry up for backend

    • Zac disagrees (says they kicked a lot of tasks down the road)

    • More complexity for backend stuff

  • Feature requests can provide a lot of work

What size team are you looking for?

  • Discuss later on

Any particular preferences (leaning towards backend, more frontend etc?)

  • Discuss later as well

Meetings (how often? text or call?)

  • Currently team is very flexible, will decide properly later on

Social

Have you thought about your social event?

  • Back in October, decide later
